Our private chef, Chef Jay, has been with the Cove Houses for the past three years and continues to create delicious and unique meals for all our guests. His enthusiasm and rounded education allow him to create restaurant quality dishes in a variety of different styles.
For breakfast, Chef Jay can prepare a full English breakfast, traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, or a clever combination of the two.
Mid-morning snacks and smoothies are always available to you as well. Try Chef Jay’s mango or avocado smoothies as they are one of the owner’s favorite things to enjoy while staying in the Cove House.
The house specialty is seafood. The fish and shellfish you will enjoy are all caught and purchased that day by Cove House staff to ensure that they are fresh and local. Fish can be served whole, roasted, fried, sashimi style, baked, or in whatever manner you prefer. Make sure to try the King Prawns and Lobsters as well!
The large barbecue at Cove House allows Chef Jay to grill any sort of meat, fish or poultry you would like. Be sure to request the Sri Lankan Marinated Chicken, it is one of our favorites.
If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or some other special event, decorated cakes can also be provided upon request.
A large selection of Vegetarian options, made from local produce, is also available. Have your own recipe? Bring it to the house and Chef Jay can prepare the meal during your stay.
